Admission Checklist for Certificate-Seeking Graduate Students
- Submit an Application for Graduate Admission to Graduate Admission and Degree Services, along with the one-time, non-refundable $55 application fee.
- Request official transcripts from each educational institution you have attended beyond high school. Transcripts can be turned in by hand if they are in the original sealed envelopes or they can be mailed or faxed to us directly from the originating institution. Please note that you DO NOT have to supply a Boise State University transcript.
- If the program requires additional material (for example, letters of recommendation), then submit that material directly to the program’s departmental office.
After completing the steps listed above, you are eligible for admission to the Graduate College. Completing the steps, however, does not ensure that you will be admitted to a certificate program. You must still meet any grade-point average (GPA) requirement stipulated by the program to which you are applying. Finally, you are officially admitted to the graduate program only after receiving written notification from the Graduate Dean.
- For more details, go to Graduate Certificate Programs.
If this is your first application for graduate admission, please fill in all information on the secure application form and include the one-time, non-refundable $55 application fee. You can use a Visa/MasterCard or Discover card and include it with your online application, call in the number after submitting your application, or print the form and mail it in with a check.
When you are finished filling out your application and are ready to submit it, first print a copy to keep for your records and then click the submit button to send the completed form. Certificate-seeking students must provide a complete set of official transcripts. You DO NOT need to provide a Boise State transcript. Transcripts can be turned in by hand if they are in the original sealed envelopes, or they can be mailed or faxed to us directly from the originating institution.
Please be aware that some programs may have a department application form that you will need to complete in addition to the Graduate Application for Admission, and most programs require additional materials that are submitted directly to the department. In addition, most programs have application deadlines; check with the Graduate Program to which you are applying for specific information.
If you have enrolled at Boise State as a graduate student within the last two years, you do not need to reapply. Go online with BroncoWeb to register. If it has been longer than two years, or if you had applied and never enrolled, you will need to reapply but will not need to pay the application fee again. Use our online form and include any changes in name, address, program, etc. since your last application. When you are finished and ready to submit, first print a copy to keep for your records and then click the submit button to send the completed form.
