Idaho Residency
When you are first admitted to Boise State, the university classifies you as either a resident student or a non-resident student and then uses this classification to determine your tuition and fees. For information on determining your residential status, please contact the Registrar’s Office at 208-426-4249.
Tuition and Fees
When applying for admission, you will pay a one-time, non-refundable $55 fee for processing your application. To calculate other tuition and fees, Boise State has established that nine credits or more per semester constitute full-time graduate enrollment. Students attending part-time are charged by the credit hour. Tuition, fees, and other charges are subject to change at any time by the Idaho State Board of Education, acting as the Board of Trustees for Boise State University.
Financial Aid for Graduate Students
Assistantships and Fellowships are awarded by departments and include a stipend and a waiver of fees. Scholarships are also available to qualifying students.

Student housing consists of on-campus residence halls and apartment complexes located within walking distance from campus. If you wish to live in university housing while attending Boise State, you must submit an application to the Student Housing Office (208-426-3986). Note that this application is entirely separate from your application to the Graduate College. Even if your housing application is accepted and processed, you are not guaranteed acceptance into a graduate program.
Financial aid for housing is available through the Graduate Residential Scholars Program (GRSP).
